Jeremiah 6:16

Thus saith the LORD, "Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls."

But they said, "We will not walk therein."

No amount of works (Eph 2:8-9) can get us to Heaven or earn some favor that will gain Heaven for us. With that said, we are also instructed to live a life that is holy, both in the First Covenant and in the Second Covenant.

Leaglism is not the Word of God, but is instead the ordinances (any ordinance or law, that is not found in the Bible, but is instituted by man) is of man. We should never confuse the two. Jesus came to break down the ordinances of men, but He came to fulfill the Word of God, for He was the Word and God.

So then, if obeying the commands of Christ is leaglistic, why did Jesus command us to obey His commandments? Again, leaglism is of man, not of God; obeying His commands as He has instructed us, is us showing love and respect to our Savior.

(Lev 11:45) For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

(Lev 20:7) Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God.
(Lev 20:8) And ye shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am the LORD which sanctify you.

(Mar 7:7) Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

(Joh 6:35) And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

(Joh 14:15) If ye love me, keep my commandments.

(Joh 15:10) If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

(Joh 15:14) Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

(Joh 17:17) Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

(Rom 1:5) By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:

(Rom 3:24) Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

(1Co 6:11) And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

(Eph 2:5) Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

(Eph 2:8) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
(Eph 2:9) Not of works, lest any man should boast.

(1Pe 1:15) But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
(1Pe 1:16) Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

(1Jn 2:4) He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

(1Jn 5:3) For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. (Grievous, meaning not a burden; His commandments are not a burden)
